Use Kelly Blue Book (http://www.kbb.com) to determine the private party sale price. I ran through it quickly and it looks like your car would sell for around $8,500, so you'd pay off your loan and have a little bit left.
You should sell your car if you have no other way of getting income and it looks like you will fall behind on your car payments, as protecting your credit is worth taking the bus.

Should I sell my 2005 Subaru impreza?
I have about 60,000 miles on it and less then 5,000 left to pay it off.
I really do not need a car anymore and I kinda could use the money.
I'm so close to paying it off I'm having a hard time deciding what to do.

Only if you're *very* sure that you do not need a car, and won't need one anytime soon. It's hard to get a car loan these days without paying a significant % of the total value as a down payment, so if you're strapped for a few thousand dollars now, it would be a challenge to get another car in a year.
