I am guessing that because of the recession, the shops didn't sell much. So at the end of the year, they will be giving deals to get at least some sales. People will be in a mood to spend too. So my belief is Department stores are all going to have a big sale for Christmas.

Sears, H&M, The Bay, Aldos,Home Depot, Lowes, Old Navy, GAP, MEXX, etc

it's pretty much safe to say the big department stores like Macy's and JcPenney's and Sears would likely do so again. Same with the Walmarts and Targets. Best idea may be to start looking for ideas of gifts and what you want to buy for yourself now, and start tracking down any leads on Black Friday deals.
