The reason we see so many celebrity branded perfumes, colognes, or any other items is to make money. If someone's a huge fan of tiger woods and sees that he endorses Gatorade, chances are they will pick gatorade over powerade. The same holds true for perfumes and colognes. If a popular celebrity comes out with her own perfume, chances are her fanboys and fangirls will buy it in hopes that they will become a few steps closer to being like her.
In reality it's just a marketing propaganda to get you interested in buying the perfumes or colognes

Because they smell at their regular job? Actually, with an abundance of actors and limited roles, Hollywood often sports an unemployment rate among actors in excess of 50%, any role is a blessing.
