At the moment it looks like Elpida have the edge in the battle for DRAM control. Micron say they have a better off and technology to Taiwan's DRAM industry. Business is pretty cutthroat so it's very hard to say who will win but with Elpida having a $310 Million injection from the Japanese government I favour them.

Who will win that battle for DRAM control, Elipida or Micron?
The Japanese Government just announced it would prop up Elipida with a $310 million injection of cash.
Fast Facts:
1. Taiwan will consolidate all of its DRAM makes and form a new company called Taiwan Memory Co.
2. Taiwan’s DRAM manufacturers include Nanya Technology, Inotera, Powerchip, Rexchip, ProMOS and Winbond.
3. The Taiwan government will pour $2 billion into the venture.
4. The Partnership will align with either Elipida or Micron but not both.
5. Micron announced the “World’s densest server memory module”, a 16 gigabye device, in 2006.
6. Elipida has a low-power technology and high-density stacking technology called 16 gigabyte FB-DIMM, in 2008.
7. Micron announced NAND flash memory, 16 gigabyte in Mar, 2009.
8. Cameras are consuming more memory. 32GB Ultra II SDHC card has the industry leading capacity capable of storing more than 8,000 high-resolution pictures or up to 40 hours of video.
