When someone makes a helpful suggestion, how do you respond?

There are a number of way that one can respond to a helpful suggestion, but one of the best ways to respond would be to thank the person that gave you the suggestion. This not only makes the person that gave you the suggestion happy, but will encourage that person to make more suggestion in the future. If you respond negatively, the person may not want to give any suggestions in the future and you make be eliminating some very good suggestions as well as alienating a friend in the future. This is not a good thing.
