1.Severe drought
2.Citizens face famine due to the the drought
3.Critical water shortages
4.Death and loss of live stock
5.Little or no food to feed the population
6.Human displacement
Ethiopian farmers abandon their crops due to the fact it is unprofitable for the farmers. please read article on the page to this link http://www.csmonitor.com/2008/0506/p01s06-woaf.html. Also severe drought would make farmers abandon there crops and look elsewhere for better means of employment and the city would be the only place where the farmers are capable of getting a job.

During the Dust Bowl millions of acres of farm land was abandon because of over production and dropping wheat prices.
