Personalized MandM's to promote your business. Any thoughts on this interesting marketing tactic?

You could say it "sweetenes the deal" for convincing people to buy from your company.

From attending a few trade shows, I think this is a novel, but bad idea. If you are going to stamp your name on something for a person to take home, you want it to last. I will think of your company while I eat the M&Ms, but once that wrapper hits the trash, you are forgotten. More permanent, office friendly things are the way to go: collapsible frisbees, special tacks, Post-It cubes, among other things. An advertiser needs to choose something that I will want to have on my desk with their name on it.

However, for personal events like a wedding, I really like them. Most wedding favors given to be end up in a drawer never to see the light of day again, but M&Ms I can enjoy on your special day with you and never have to worry about taking one home.

As a final note, thanks for pointing out the my M&Ms site, the have some Disney stuff on there my wife would love...

I bought a bag of M&M's one time at a Westin Hotel gift shop. Every single one read "w" i wish i knew how they did that.

Actually, that's a cute give away. Cheaper than tee shirts, but they don't last quite so long. Pens might be cheaper.

I have to admit.. I rarely read candy before shoving it into my mouth. Unfortunately I'm likely not the only one. Cool idea.. but unless you got bucks to spare I wouldn't recommend it for a small business at least.
