Well that depends. A lot of his money is in real estate, which he borrows money in order to buy. He may be like a lot of American home-owners at this point, where some of his properties may have more owed than he owns. previous was purely speculative.

However, he currently has a lawsuit going against a book writer who alleged Trump only had $250 million in net worth. In the same article, in the Wall Street Journal, it stated that a lending company totalled his assets to be around $788 million in 2005 (the loan was for $640 million, so if you did the math, that would lower his net worth to $148 million if he got 100% financing with his own money-- he likely didn't), while he valued his own net worth at around $6 billion including his branding in 2007.

For the article referenced, in 2009, he said he values his net worth around $5 billion because he said it fluctuates with the economy.

It was stated on CNBC a few weeks ago that when the lending company was totaling his assets, they stopped counting when they got up to a number they were satisfied was sufficient to secure the loan. He is unarguably a billionaire.
