Next Question
The answer depends on a bunch of different factors, including where you live; where the billboard is located; how long you'd like to rent it; and which outdoor-advertising company owns the board.
There's one board in my town that costs you all of twenty-five bucks a week to rent, because it's a text-only board. Pretty much anyone can afford to rent a message for a week, and the owner has no trouble keeping that board rented out. On the other hand, there's a "regular" billboard overlooking the massive lake that's a destination for tourists from all over the State of Texas, so the rates on that are considerably higher. That board is in a great location - seriously, it blocks a good bit of your view of the lake when you're driving toward it - and you can do an actual ad, with graphics and text, which is of course going to cost you more than the other company's text-only board.
The best way to find out how much a billboard rental will cost you is to call the advertising company's toll-free number. Where I live, Lamar Outdoor Advertising is an incredibly-popular company, so I would probably contact them first.
