It does appear to be going through a slight rebound in the short term. The DJIA has been rising slowly since early March (DJIA). However, the unprecedented spending by Congress in 2009 leaves unresolved questions such as what will be the future impact of inflation. I hope it's not the case, but we may just be in a moderate upturn. It's still too early to say.
Still, people generally like to be fairly optimistic about the economy and the market, and this optimism could be the biggest factor in turning around the economy, whenever that does occur for sure.
