Walmart has been growing very fast in Brazil. Walmart invested 1.2 billion reias in 2008 to open 36 new stores and in 2009, they plan to invest 1.8 billion reias (equal to 1.1 billion dollars) to open 80-90 new stores. I think the demand is driven by low income consumers, and Brazil's growing economy.
