For example, you can make money if you are in the UK by doing spread betting. It's very popular now and I have used it to make money by spread betting Forex (foreign exchange) using Capital Spreads, which is a spread betting company (they are the platform that allows you to place the bets/trades). The advantage of this is that the earnings are tax free as they are considered 'gambling'. You have to remember that you do risk your capital (initial investment) and more, so it is best to really research and join some spread betting/forex forums to find out more before committing any money.
Alternatively, you could look at doing proper foreign exchange trading, using a broker like Alpari UK (they are a good one in my opinion) and a system such as www.forexsignalclub.com. They give you a free introductory membership, so you can try it out and see if it works/is for you. After which, you pay the Forex Signal Club for the trade information, this advises you of what currency to trade, when to get into a trade and when to get out, as well as giving you a chatroom type facility to interact with other traders. You can sign up for a 'paper' trading or demonstration account to do 'paper' trades, which means that you are not risking your own/real money and this gives you the opportunity to see how it works, test a system and become fully familiar and confident before actually diving in at the deep end! Be aware that any profits are subject to Capital Gains Tax, although there is a 'tax-free' allowance each year and of course, any losses can be offset against your winnings.
There are lots of success stories in spread betting and forex trading. It helps if you are dedicated and numerate. You do need capital investment to start out and open a trading account, but it doesn't have to be very much.
If you are female, you might want to look at the 'adult' side of things - you can do online texting, phone calls and all sorts of alternative work, if you are comfortable with it. You can find opportunities by googling and looking for forums specific to that type of work.
If you have an appropriate qualification you could look at doing online tutoring or teaching English as a foreign language. There are plenty of students all over the world, but especially in Asia who are looking for online English teachers and for teachers of other subjects such as maths or science who can help them via platforms such as Skype, using a webcam and microphone. I have made some money doing online tutoring.
Lastly, there are jobs listed on places such as Elance and Odesk particularly in computer, web/internet and administration related areas, which can be performed remotely. You just sign up and bid on the jobs you are interested in. The pay can sometimes be quite good and if you are really good at audio typing, you could always look at transcription jobs from home. There are quite a few UK based companies who are taking people on at the moment.
Hope this helps!

If they got what it takes, like for instance a proper mindset and - surprise - are willing to put some effort to it (read: you have to work!).
Was that bad news? If so, better forget about making money online ...
But if you're willing to really go for it, let me reveal a secret to you:
You don't need to work butt off to make money online, because there are smart ways to go about it.
A great shortcut to success i used myself is Mike Beletro's Lazy Marketers Club, that got lots of newbies started online and even enabled seasoned Internet and Affiliate Marketers to add almost "hands-free" income streams to their business.
My advice: go for it - and stick to it ...*-)

And of course, Forex or any other form of trading is definitely not for everyone or else everyone would be doing it! Plus, I wouldn't say it will necessarily make you a 'fortune' - fortunes generally come from high risk, but over time... yes, you can make a good amount and many people certainly make enough money to live off.
