Have you ever had a manager claim credit on a work that you did?

You work hard to develop a project and then a manager takes credit for the success of the project. Do you feel ripped off?

No, not with a manager. I was co-chief negotiator for my union 3 years ago and we had assistance from another union that was an international affiliate, most of which was crunching numbers. At the end of negotiations, the rep claimed credit for all the results. What really, to this day, disgusted me about his behavior was (1) we are a team and had always presented the results as a team effort and (2) if the team had agreed to and followed his lead instead of mine we would have gotten 0.75% less in raises, among other things.

In this instance I think that I felt betrayed on the principal, the idea that as a union we were a group of people that together were working for one common cause. I suppose I was just too idealistic. :-(

Learning what to stop is more important than what to do.

I worked for a relative and she would do it to me and the rest of the department all the time.
If it was right she took full credit for it.
If something was wrong she would feed us to the wolfs.
She was sleeping with the hr manager too so no one had recourse / protection from it.
In the end I confronted her and she told me that the work situation was not working out and of course I was fired from my job. I felt ripped off for sure but one good thing is I dont have to look at her old nasty face every day.
