Yes Japan and their companies share their technology. This would be done to encourage foreign investment and also strengthen business and economic ties. The Japanese i would say is an embracing country they try to empathize with other countries cultures, way if life, thinking etc

Japanese technology mostly consists of their scientists reverse engineering products from the US and Europe. You could say that we involuntarily share our technology with Japan.
