I voted NBA. This answer only provides a link for setting up text messaging but doesn't address leximo1's question about how to get free text messaging, if available.

I re-examined your link to see if there were any explicit words that addressed the issue of "free text messaging" and could find none.

I did, however, find this at the bottom of the page, in fine print: "Subject to additional Terms and Conditions. Additional charges, compatible phone & coverage (which varies by feature/service) required."

Unless you have specific experience with using this link as a source for free text messages, the question remains unanswered.
