It depends on the store and the item. However when I worked in retail last year, it would tell me exactly how much profit we made on each item if I scanned the barcode at our register. On most items, we made at least a 50% profit.
Therefore, if we were selling a pair of jeans for $22, it roughly cost us $15 from our warehouse.
