No absolutely not, and here's why. Email is not blocked, and it is probably the greatest time waster in business history. It is also probably the most useful tool as well.

Social networking sites can be used to waste time but they can also be used to interact with customers and build valuable business relationships.

It also creates an environment of distrust for employees.

It depends ! But in general, i think to limit something by force has no positive effect on work. In this situation, i think MBO (Manage by Objectives) help us alot. it means that any employee has some goals and duties, its up to them to achieve these goals in a specific times, if they achieve then it's ok, if not they should be fire ! Now it's not imprtant for us if they use facebook or not !
