Southwest for almost all the same reasons. They are some of the cheapest fares. If you check and they have "wanna get away" prices you hit the jackpot. And I think they actually just started doing assigned seating. They used to not and you had to pay more to get on first to get better seats, but either way, if you want to not waste your money and get from point a to b, I would recommend southwest. I flew Delta on some flights the military paid for and it wasnt so much better that I would pay the price

I have had much better experiences on Southwest than Delta. Southwest's website is simple and easy to navigate. The fares are especially good if you are returning to a different destination than where you left, for example if you fly out of San Jose to Albuquerque and then return to Oakland. I have heard suits sneer about the cattle cars, but they always seem to give good value to the average guy.
