can anyone recommend any good links to understanding the petroleum/chemical industry? (ie. shells, exxon, etc.)
looking to understanding different terminologies used in this industry, its basic product cycle. anything to start gain an understanding more or less how the petroleum industry works.

• Thanks! With all this info overload, now i just need to figure out what analysts look for when they decide what companies in this industry is worth investing in.

If it is investing in shares you mean, then I can say in short that analysts look for the company's past performance and present trends. They draw graphs and prepare comparative statement of performance of different companies over a particular period, say last 2 years. Also listen to expert's opinion about investing and try to match them with yours. Thanks
