The best ergonomic chair varies by individual. What you need to know first is what kind of support you need. For example, if you have neck, shoulder or carpel tunnel syndrome symptoms, then a chair with adjustable height arms may be an appropriate choice. Many things are sold are ergonomic and they sincerely. However, each person's needs vary. If you are having symptoms of a repetitive stress injury, I would recommend that you see someone and get a referral to an occupational therapist. The occupational therapist will recommend the appropriate type of chair and any other work modifications that you might need.

It provides great support for upper back and lower back. There is also a foot support. It means it provides support for the whole body (from heat to toe).
Of course, even the best chair can beat regular break.

The best ergonomic chair is the posture improving ball chair. It helps to improve your posture by gently exercising your core muscles.

The best ergonomic chairs were made before ergonomic became a trendy word for chairs. I am talking about the old wood swivel office chairs that are much heavier than now, that are also wider, that have an indentation cut into the chair the size of a real person not on any diet, that are stiffer to move so that it is almost impossible to flip over backwards because they were more sturdy. These chairs are no longer made but can be found sometimes in the junk storage room of older companies or antique or old used furniture stores. These chairs are very very comfortable to sit on and work in and are almost indestructible. Unlike all the ergonomic office chairs I have tried in all price ranges - these chairs simply did not give you a backache. The closest equivalent sold today might be something like the following http://www.amazon.com/Boss-BankerS-Chair-Cherry-Finish/dp/B0019QKK4K/
