Research and Markets has a research report called "The World Market for Letter Cards, Plain Postcards, and Correspondence Cards Made of Paper or Paperboard: A 2009 Global Trade Perspective" http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reportinfo.asp?report_id=668962&t=d&cat_id= but they want 637 Euros for it.
They also have a report for "The World Market for Postcards, Personal Greeting Cards, Announcement Cards, and Decalcomanias: A 2009 Global Trade Perspective" http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reportinfo.asp?report_id=699935
They proport to have a methodology that allows them to generate their estimates. Since tourist postcards could be printed by any competent printer and those wouldn't be captured in import and export statistics I suspect rough estimates are the best you will be able to find.
If you are really serious about the numbers you should contact Icon Group who authored the reports and see if they can supply the numbers.

Tourist postcards sold around the world : where do I find concrete financial information about the size of the world market?
I'd like to find sources of financial information on the postcard industry around the world in various tourist destinations - in terms of the volume and value of the market. Ideally, this info will be segmented by destination or at least by country. Information such as average unit price and volume of sales by price range, as well as the governing market trends will be able to earn extra tips.
I'm especially interested in the leading tourist destinations, ie. France, Spain, United States, Hong Kong + China, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, Austria, Australia, Turkey, Russia, Canada, Malaysia, Poland, Greece, Hungary, Thailand, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Ireland, Czech Republic, Switzerland
I'm not interested in any information to do with printing, custom postcards, greeting cards (eg. Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.) I'm only looking for the hard numbers of how many tourist postcards are sold and where and for how much, if possible.
Thank you for your time!
