I think if you already have a business, Mahalo and Mahalo Answers can be a way to raise awareness of your business. We've already seen a little of that, both in questions and answers.

Whether it can be serious money? I think it could be, if we start seeing more and bigger tips, and if you stick around long enough to become a Black Belt and then manage as many pages as possible and promote them as much as possible. At the moment, it's very possible to help make ends meet. I am by no means a power user who is able to spend hours a day here, but I do make a little extra money here.

It's hard to consider it a business as you don't own any assets here. But you could consider it a side job, and one which might get to be quite rewarding in the future.

If Jason's plans work out, one day the Mahalo pages you build and manage might rank in Google right up there with Wikipedia pages, and attract a lot of traffic. If we get there then you might make thousands of dollars a year from some pages.

Of course, that's the best case scenario. At the moment, it's more of a hobby that makes a few bucks as well.

It depends on how much you would want to make to consider it a "business". I have been with Mahalo since 9/07 and I have put in a lot of hours but only see it as being fun money... or making ends meet. It is a nice thought that it could be something that big, and I would be really happy if it were but not going to hold my breath for it either. Just going to keep on keeping on with Mahalo and see where it takes me. Good luck with your endeavors.
