In order to reach the Brown Belt level on Mahalo you must demonstrate focus, spirit, strength, empathy and discipline, while helping grow the community.
It is with great pride and admiration I'm pleased to announce that Darcy Logan has passed her brown belt test. Notes from each of the five master Guides at Mahalo's HQ in Santa Monica follow.

There's no doubt that Darcy's contribution to the system has been overwhelmingly positive ever since the inception of the project in December 2008.
Darcy is a viral contributor. She is on top of questions as soon as they are posted, which is arguably one of the best things a Mahalo Answers contributor could do. We want to get people answers to their questions quickly and efficiently, and Darcy definitely gets that.Darcy always writes helpful answers with good citations--exactly what we're trying to do. Finally, Darcy has tapped into the "Mahalo Spirit" and channels it in her answers. She is polite, energetic and knowledgeable.I see Darcy's activity in all nooks and crannies of the Answers system, and she's been a big help. She receives my nomination for Brown Belt.

Having also worked with Darcy on the freelance how to articles she writes for Mahalo, I can attest firsthand to her commitment to detailed research, finding trustworthy sources, and explaining things clearly for a general audience. I congratulate her for deservedly reaching brown belt.

Darcy Logan has been instrumental in the evolution and growth of Mahalo Answers.  Not only is she a voracious contributer, but a supportive and encouraging community builder.  Her tireless efforts to maintain the highest quality answers and participation are a model to other users.  From the inception of the project she has been a cheerleader for the team both to our inhouse staff and ever growing community.  Her efforts are appreciated. From its earliest days, Darcy Logan has arguably been the single most passionate and engaged member of the Mahalo Answers Community.  As the system was still being fine-tuned, she worked tirelessly to provide feedback about the product from a user's perspective, to help our developers fix bugs and to streamline the asking and answering process.  Since the site went public, no one has been a more positive or helpful presence, not simply cutting-and-pasting Wikipedia facts, answering questions quickly to boost her score, but adding insights, refuting facts, asking her own pertinent questions and kickstarting interesting discussions. 
Darcy represents something of an ideal for elite Mahalo Answers users, embodying the same spirit of community and trustworthiness with which the website was initially designed.  She receives my recommendation for Brown Belt.
