Brown Belt Test - Chriswingate: Pass 3/3

Once a Mahaloian reaches 8000 points they become eligible for their Brown Belt on Mahalo. However, that belt is only presented after Mahalo staff consult the members recent history and activity to see if that Mahaloian is in fact ready to become a Brown Belt. Today we test: @chriswingate

Max Lance: Pass
===============
Although he hasn't totally justified the superhuman powers of his Green Lantern avatar yet, chriswingate has established himself as the kind of active Mahalo user that is becoming increasingly involved as the site grows.

He is currently ranked twenty-second for questions asked and best answers, and nineteenth for overall answers, which is a very good accomplishment for a purple belt. He does very well with technology and internet questions, scoring many of his best answers with questions like, "I sang along with Doctor Horrible, joined the Guild, broke a leg and rode with the Bus Pirates... what online series should I watch next?" "How will Apple Stock be effected sic when Steve Jobs dies?" and "I have an out of print book which I would like to get converted into a word document. What is the best way of doing this?"

What I really like about chriswingate's participation is that he revisits questions after he has already answered them. He comments on other answers and even comments on his own answers when he wants to clarify something, as all the above examples show.

Like all brown belts, he has room to improve. For example, for all the answers he gives, he only gets best answer 42 percent of the time. Plus a lot of his best answers are when he was the only answerer. Everyone on Mahalo could always go into more detail, but it becomes more important for each belt level you hit.

Looking forward to more of his contributions, because I definitely think he passes his brown belt test.

Chriswingate is an active and helpful Mahalo user who has answered over 800 questions on Mahalo. He contributes by offering informative and helpful answers, asking questions on various topics and managing several pages on the site. He also participates in the Mahalo community by offering suggestions and assistance to other users and participating in community threads such as belt tests and Answer of the Day. We appreciate his contributions and congratulate him on his brown belt.

Chriswingate represents part of the newer guard here at Mahalo, he joined in June and we got to know him over the summer, during his time on Mahalo so far @chriswingate has answered over 800 questions and has received best answer on 42% of them. Although chriswingate could do more in the arena of Mahalo Tasks and Page Management, he makes up for it for being a vital member of the Answers community. I got to know chriswingate best from his daily participation in the Answer of the Day Contest; he has a good eye for finding quality answers and his respect and complimentary nature helps make the AOTD thread enjoyable everyday. Congrats on your Brown Belt!

Tip for best answer: M$3.95
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I want to thank everyone for helping me to get where i am now here on Mahalo! I really feel like I'm part of the community here and i love answering and asking questions and the sense of friendship that has evolved here.

Want to thank the staff members for putting up with me, asking questions here and Direct ones about how things work, trying to make things more efficient and friendly here, and listening to my inquiries and when I'm forced to report someone.

Want to thank the new people for letting me help them become efficient and valuable members here on Mahalo too!

Big shout out to @Bunnyphuphu aka "Bunny to the 2nd power of Phu" for helping me get started here and becoming friends outside of Mahalo and brainstorming new ideas and so on. She's also the most awesome redhead i know!

and on that note, I leave you with some demotivationals.

Chris,

Since I am the Official Mahaloian Rabbit Fortune Teller, I'm going to list a few words that I think will be used in your Brown Belt Test:

Enthusiastic, most helpful, productive, impressive, courteous, and of course... PASS!

Congratulations @chriswingate, I think you're 'marvel'ous!

Already!! I was planning to reach black belt first!! I guess I already lost. I have to get 2000 more points! Well, I think you definitely pass. And congrats. But before we get on with the celebrations how did you manage it?!

@Bunnyphuphu you may be the official rabbit fortune teller but I'm the great Official White Wolf of Knowledge! And by rules of nature I therefore am, the Higher authority. :D

Perseverance, knocking out many of the twitter'd questions over the past few weeks (those quarters and 10pts add up!), hitting questions that interest me when they first come up for the double pts. helping out here when/if I can, making friends, and slowly learning how to do pages.

Wow, Chris Wingate up for a brown belt test already? That was fast! Chris has been very active in the answers community. He has provided a lot of good answers which shows he is a valuable member of the community. For suggestion, I would recommend he get more involved in claiming and managing pages as I think it would be rewarding to a high ranking member such as himself. Good luck on your brown belt test Chris!

@chriswingate isn't just an ordinary member in mahalo. I've always seen him around giving out quality and well-researched answers as well as posting worth-asking questions.

He totally deserves a brown belt... I think even a black belt! lol XD

Good luck! ^^ I know you'll pass! :D
