Clearly.

Boxing, almost more than any other sport, can cause you real physical damage if you are not good enough. De La Hoya seems like a decent, smart guy-he should get out before he gets himself killed.

He will only come out of retirement for big fights that will build his promotion company further. He's a marketing/promotions whore.

Yes He should quit, he just showed he has no more energy left to last even 3 rounds, he cant fight anymore, manny pacquiao was way too fast for him. He should focus on his golden boy business

He should quit before he damages his reputation any further. He has already accomplished a lot, and can only get worse because of his age: no match against younger fighters. Great guy, but should now focus on his health and business, in that order.

De La Hoya needs to stay around for as long as possible. Even though he is over the hill, whenever someone beats him, they suddenly are famous.
