Boss strategies - what's your best tactic to defeat a boss in a videogame?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For games like Legend of Zelda and Prince of Persia I would just jump around as much as possible and/or avoiding being hit as much as I could while I slowly picked the boss off little by little.
I was just playing Killzone 2 yesterday and I found myself vs this mini boss, my strategy was to hide behind a corner while my AI buddies would take all the damage, while I shot the boss in the head and back (He had propane tanks on his back) with my sniper rifle until he blew up.
In Street Fighter 4 I don't really consider Seth a boss, while playing as Ryu, you can pretty much just jump>forward punch, crouch punch Shoryuken him over and over again for each difficulty up to Hard, and then you can change it up with throws and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku (or however that's spelled)
So my strategy against bosses always comes down to this plan.
HP>1 = Win If you stick to the plan, you will eventually win.

M$In Final Fantasy VII, against the Ruby Weapon.
-Use just Cloud, and go into the battle with your two other allies already dead.
-Make sure you have the counter-attack Materia, which will be a big help when he does physical attacks.
-Now (I think this is correct...), resurrect both allies, and have one of them quickly use Knights of the Round.
-Cloud needs to have the Mime Materia. If he does, he'll automatically cast Knights of the Round as well. And then you're other ally will also.
This strategy basically sets up a domino effect, where you're main goal is to keep your allies resurrected and casting KotR, and then the other two allies mimic that action. After I believe 20 castings of KotR, the Ruby Weapon will fall.
Anyone else have some FF boss fight strategies?
