I loved, I Robot, The Gods Themselves and his autobiography, but my favorite book by him is Caves of Steel, where he introduced Elijah Baley and R. Daneel Olivaw. I always wished that Star Trek had spun off something similar to this with Worf, O'Brian, and Data, Space Navy Investigators.

You can either read the books in the order they were published (as I did), or in chronological order.
I read "Foundation" first, and was pretty happy with it.

Here's a link to the full list of Foundation novels, which is pretty extensive: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_series#List_of_books_within_the_Foundation_Universe
And the Wikipedia article for background info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_series
I highly recommend it!

I'm a huge fan of the entire Foundation series, particularly the first couple of books. You can either read the books in the order they were published (as I did), or in chronological order.
