There are many claims. None are authoritative.

Elizabeth Foster Goose (1665-1758), Boston resident
Mary Goose (d. 1690, age 42), Boston resident
King Robert II of France's wife, aka "Goose-Foot Bertha" aka "Bertha the Spinner"

Charles Perrault, published a book in his son's name in 1695, with the sub-title "Tales of My Mother Goose", implying that the nickname was of Perrault's wife. This would also mean that there is no real ____ Goose name.
