I haven't tried it, yet I'm sure this is a cheaper solution than the Kindle. However, please be forewarned that it's not quite the same reading experience as reading on the Kindle. You have to take in consideration that the Kindle's screen has been optimized for your reading experience and was created with e-ink, whereas the iPhone/iPod Touch has a backlit screen which is not meant for longer term reading experiences, although it can be used. Also, the iPhone/iPod Touch has a smaller screen, which will inevitably require more page turns, and greater eye strain to read smaller font. The other drawback is that no magazines or newspapers are available yet.
So, my conclusion is that it's like comparing apples and oranges, as it's a totally different reading experience.

The Book-reader application allows users to choose from tens-of-thousands of titles to download and read on their handsets.

• I agree the small screen would be an inhibitor. The 8x11 Plastic Logic interface with touch screen control will be much more usable. Hopefully, color will be available with the device.
