Have to? No. According the vampire lore laid down in Meyer's book, there is no requirement for vamps to eat the heart of the first kill.
...although...based on the description of her ferocious hunger, you can probably put money on it that she gobbled that ticker right up.

Just to be sure I went back and re-read the section, and nope! No mention of her devouring any hearts. She takes down a lion and then some deer. She drinks their blood dry, but no meaty consumption is mentioned - only about how sloshy and full of liquid she felt.
