Can you become a great writer in any genre if you don't have any curiosity?

Personally, I think curiosity is rather irrelevant.

What you really want to have is passion. Passion and determination.

You should research the genre you are interested in writing. Read many other examples by accomplished writers and apply their methods to your own while adding your own flavour to the mix.

With passion and determination you can do just about anything.
