In addition to Woody Guthrie, the late folk singer Odetta Holmes had a huge influence on Bob Dylan. He even said that she was the first thing to turn him on to folk singing. The video on the Mahalo page is a brief snippet from the Dylan documentary "No Direction Home." A great talent, Odetta died this week at the age of 77.

One of Dylan's major influences was the folk singer and musician Woody Guthrie. Guthrie's influence can be heard on most of Dylan's early work, including the "Song to Woody" off of Dylan's self-titled debut album.
Bob has been very clear about the fact that Woody Guthrie was by far his biggest influence.
