Yes it is still simple and fun for small kids. We have the Dora version, which is pretty much the same as the original. It has cards with colours to show you which space to move to. My daughter loves it. She can play it with us or with her friends (they are 3 and 4 years old) since it doesn't require reading. They all love playing it.
