Yes i've played this game and really like it.
The object of Power Grid is to supply the most cities with power when someone's network gains a predetermined size.
In the newer edition, players mark pre-existing routes between cities for connection, and then bid against each other to purchase the power plants that they use to power their cities.
Overall it's a fun game provided that you've got someone else who likes this sort of game to plat with, it's for 2-6 players.

All in all its a pretty fun game to play, and it can be time consuming as your basic monopoly (not quite as bad though). It's pretty easy to learn with practice, and the instructions are specific. May your cities have power!

Has anyone played the board game 'Power Grid'? What are your thoughts on it?
The board game bug is biting me again and I'm starting to check some out--I've heard a lot of good things about Power Grid, but I don't know anyone who's actually played it.
It seems a little bit like Ticket to Ride, but I'd like to hear what y'all think!

It's definitely one of the most unique games Ive ever played. Its tends to be a very strategic gameset, since you have to accumlate materials to do anything and in purchasing plants or upgrading them, potentially gives your opponent access to superior equipment. All in all its a pretty fun game to play, and it can be time consuming as your basic monopoly (not quite as bad though). It's pretty easy to learn with practice, and the instructions are specific. May your cities have power!
