Yes they do. Younger kids enjoy it and there are new versions. I play it with with daughter and my friend's daughters.
We play Dora Candy Land with our daughter. Pretty much the same as the original but branded with Dora. The cards have colours to tell you which space to move to, which is good for small children. It helped her to learn the names of colours. Can't say that I love it though, found it kind of boring, but my daughter still asks to play it often.

You can buy Candy Land, Candy Land Castle and Candy Land Deluxe at Toys R Us, so people must still be buying the game if there are so many versions of it.

My daughter also watched the Candy Land animated movie which she loved. Yes, there is a movie!

And there is a live action Candy Land movie in production.

Good question, and I wondered it myself about 10 to 20 years ago. None of my friends kids liked it. Then, my kids showed no interest. They liked Ravensburger games, classic Scrabble, uno, upwords, and various cartoon versions of Monopoly.
It has great artwork. Maybe the parents buy it because they think it looks cool.
I did not like it as a kid (too simple) but my sisters liked it!

• I did not realize there were new character variations. Cool. Thanks for sharing. Please check out the [[Mahalo]] [[Candy Land]] page. It is currently unclaimed.
