There are gazillions of those, but two of the biggest and most famous are Typepad and Livejournal.
Typepad was one of the first blogging services, and for a long time the choice of professionals. Nowadays most people think it's been surpassed in capability by Wordpress. Also it costs money!

Livejournal was also one of the early blogging systems, though they prefer to talk about journals than blogs. One feature of Livejournal that makes it distinct is it is very community oriented, and you can join a group that writes about and discusses anything under the sun. (Esp of course geekish and fannish things.) As such it's like cross between blogging and forums.
It's features look a bit dated now, but in terms of meeting people you want to talk to and having great conversations, it still has a lot to offer.

Besides that there are umpteen others all with slight differences, Tumblr, blogs.com, Xanga etc.
