Thanks very much Mahalo for getting this organized.
13,000 points seems a long way off when you start (2nd June for me)!
It's amazing though that with persistence the points accumulate, so my advice is persevere and the points will come.
I'm not sure what being a black belt will change as I pretty much can do everything I want on Mahalo right now but it's been an aim of mine for a while to get to Blackbelt - "why because it's there!"
These days I tend to spend more time on managed pages and tasks and less time on answering questions, so some newcomers won't have seen me too much as I haven't answered too many questions recently.
Fingers crossed and all that and yes it is nice to be the top ranking Brit!

Black Belt Test - @BestPay - Pass 3/3
Once a member reaches 13000 points they can shed their Brown Belt and upgrade to the Black Belt. Much like the Brown Belt, the Mahalo staff will once again look into the history of the user and decide whether or not they are ready. Today we test: @Bestpay

@Bestpay is a super wiz at Answers. He is super active in this corner of Mahalo, and takes a pro-active approach to the community. @Bestpay asks almost as many questions as he answers—which is unusual! He has also given more than double the amount of tips as he has received. He has also recently tried his hand at "How To's," and made it onto the team at first try! I look forward to more of Bestpay's generosity in Mahalo—both in Answers, and Tasks. Congratulations, Bestpay!
---Leslie
Back when @Bestpay first started he stormed his way to brown belt by answering tons of questions and asking some really interesting questions. Now a days he is proving himself a valuable Mahalo asset by stepping into the page management portion. He has completed hundreds of tasks, he even won a couple barnraising contests. Not only has he made the How to team he also deserves his black belt!
---Jeff
Bestpay is a Jack of all trades, master of all. After proving himself as being a top researcher with a 56% best answer rate, @bestpay moved on to page management where he is ranks in the top 10 in all categories, including widget views! Congrats @Bestpay, it's great to have you on board.
