This sounds unlikely to me. I'm asking specifically about the story a few paragraphs down about untreated TB in the UK.
Are antibiotics expensive? TB is contagious, and letting it go untreated is a public health hazard. Anyone know anything about limits on tuberculosis treatment in the UK? Antibiotic resistant TB?

If I am not mistaken TB is more of a 3rd world disease. There are plenty of treatments for it now days and as long as you have insurance (unfortunate) it shouldn’t be that difficult to afford the pills. In no way am I saying that the UK is a 3rd world country it may just mean a lot of immigrants, or people going to 3rd world countries for whatever reason.
