Most of the time hazelnut coffee is made by adding chemical solvents to add the flavor.

On a rare occasion do coffee makers add actual hazelnut pieces into the coffee blend.

To add Hazelnut to coffee you can use a powder like Coffee-Mate and pour it in the coffee. Some hazelnut flavor comes available in creams. You can add a hazelnut cream to coffee as well.

Hazelnut coffee is produced by adding hazelnut flavor as part of the roasting process of the coffee beans.

If you are referring to Hazelnut lattes they are produced by adding the syrup to the drink along with steamed milk and espresso shots.

A typical syrup brand found in many coffee shops is Monin, the link for the syrup is: http://www.coffeeam.com/mohasy.html

You'll be happy to know that there are many health benefits to Hazelnuts including their energy providing high fat content and antioxidants.
