Best home remedies for dry, cracked, painful feet?

I live in a dry climate which gets exponentially drier in the winter. My right foot is killing me. I use lotion several times a day, but I can't seem to get ahead of it. Ideas?

I used to remedy dry , cracked, and sometimes painful feet with Vaseline petroleum jelly. It really works for me every time. I put it 2-3 times a day on the feet, massage it good specially between the cracks. Before sleeping apply it again and wear socks, the next day you'll feel the difference. Continue 2 to 3 days, the same application until you feel better. Nowadays, it is winter and climate is dry too where I live and it is a usual complaint here too. Vaseline or other brands with same composition can help with this kind of condition. I have tried Olive Oil, good too but I find the petroleum jelly to do it quicker because it stays very long on the skin. Note: I just like the product (vaseline), not working for them, hehe. Hope this helps.

I read this about dried, cracked and painfull feet. This is an indication of a deficiency in zinc, and Omega 3 fatty acids. Here are a few "home remedies" that you can use that you more than likely already have in your cupboard.

1) Apply a thick coat of shortening or Hydrogenated vegetable oil and cover your feet with socks and rinse in the morning
2) Apply the pulp from a Banana leaving it on for about 10 minutes then rinse
3) Soak feet in lemon juice for 10 minutes and continue until you see a good results
4) Clean feet in warm soapy water then apply one teaspoon Vaseline and the juice from one lemon, mix the two together and apply to cracked feet, use until resukts are shown
5) Cleaning and moisturizing your feet daily, a mixture of glycerin and rosemary
6) An Oriental mixture, melt paraffin wax and mix with Mustard Oil. Leave on overnight and rinse in the morning.

I hope this helps, I do not have this problem, however I know it is very painful !

The best product I have ever used for healing cracked skin is CrackZapIt!. It's made from the natural ingredients typically used in home remedies, including these:

* Beeswax
* Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
* Candelilla Wax
* Grape seed Oil
* Honey
* Emulsifying Wax
* Aloe Vera Oil
* Grapefruit Seed Extract

Preparing home remedies is time consuming, which is another reason I like to use CrackZapIt!.

Try this combination for dry skin. Apply it at night and put soft socks over your feet. These items can be found in health food stores. This also works for dry hands, covering with plastic gloves before bedtime.

"Calendula cream with comfrey, Pure vitamin E oil, Aloe vera"
Mix equal amounts and apply.
