Yes.
However, I carry both a large CPR resuscitation mask in my kit and a keychain guard.

In an emergency, if I wasn't armed with one of these things, I'd use plastic (saran) wrap. While it's not particularly a medical solution, if I saw some around, I'd drape and cut to protect myself.
The full mask provides protection from anything that isn't airborne. The keychain guard / plastic wrap is better than nothing.
The first thing folks who take basic first aid training are taught is "danger of further injury". It isn't a good idea to help if you are in danger of being harmed in any way. So, while I say that I would help, I would carefully try to judge this variable before helping.
