I wonder how many people Obama's army killed on the day he was awarded the peace prize, and I wonder how many other peace prize winners were contemplating sending 40,000 more soldiers half way around the world to kill on the very day they accepted the prize.
"Peace" has developed a very strange definition. It seems to have become synonymous with war and killing. Very strange indeed.

I am not implying in any way that President Obama isn't a good President or a bad one for that matter. He was pretty surprised to learn the news also. I guess this is just one of those things that we all will have to wait and see just how this was decided. To honor someone before they do something is a bit foolish in my opinion.

People are so stumped by President Obamas win of the Nobel Peace Prize becuae many do not feel that he has accomplished a whole lot as President let alone accomplished anything that warrants the peace prize. I think many people fail to realize that President Obama has set precidence when discussing nuclear disarment, and changing the way the international community discusses and evalutes global issues, especially when dealing with global violence and the survival of the global community itself. He has not only shown the world a vision of peace and hope he has paved the way for new diplomancy where there had been no hope for diplomacy before.

Are you sure you're not exaggerating? Just a little bit?

I didn't say he solved the whole world peace problem. He has made much positive headway in the global conversation, which is why he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

He may be a very noble man, but this is the "Nobel" prize, which was supposed to be given to the person who has worked for peace, not the commander of the world's most powerful army that is currently engaged in waging war and killing in at least four countries. I wonder how many people Obama's army killed on the day he was awarded the peace prize, and I wonder how many other peace prize winners were contemplating sending 40,000 more soldiers half way around the world to kill on the very day they accepted the prize.

I think many people are stumped by this and they should be. Somehow there is something unusual about giving someone a prize like this for something they may do in the future. If that is all the requirement then perhaps anybody could get a Nobel prize without having to earn it for their dedicated works. I am not implying in any way that President Obama isn't a good President or a bad one for that matter. He was pretty surprised to learn the news also. I guess this is just one of those things that we all will have to wait and see just how this was decided. To honor someone before they do something is a bit foolish in my opinion.
