that s what has been predicted in some of the old civilisations texts . But I think this mere assumption and nothing would happen we would have normal life.

I seriously doubt the world is coming to an end. Side note - I will see the upcoming 2012 movie.

There will be a presidential election, some blockbuster movies, books written, babies will be born, etc.

2012 is merely the year the Mayan calendar ends.

Their civilization got massacred I guess before their scribes could begin carving stone for the next one.
