There is one missing element in your question, in my opinion.
D&D Character alignment or D&D Player alignment?

These two have a tendency to be opposites of each other.
I would rate myself a neutral good fellow.
But my D&D characters were a bit more chaotic.
Actually they were a bit like today's corporations. I was always looking for loopholes in the rules to make my character invincible (to the annoyance of those playing along with me).

Side question: Is D&D still around? And if so, who plays it? (as most of the 80s big hair metal heads/pioneering computer geeks have most likely retired from the game)
Asker's Rating:
• Good call on the two ways of seeing this question.

Oops sorry for the confusion. You seemed to answer the question both ways though, great job

I think D&D is still around. I have seen other Mahalo users talk about playing so it must be out there somewhere.

OK. Let me know when you get Jason to have the devs block off some time for setting up the Mahalo&Dragons Online Tournament.

My husband is like.. the biggest DnD nerd ever. He still plays regularly with a group. I played when I was younger, not so much anymore, maybe with lots of booze....

I've taken quizzes before and I generally get chaotic good, but I am taking your linked version now...

And I received... chaos +14 and neutral with a +2 to the evil side.

Why?

The chaotic makes sense. I have little respect for laws and authority and will follow what I personally believe is the correct path regardless of these things. Which is basically the definition of chaotic.

The neutrality doesn't surprise me either because I feel good and evil are in the eye of the beholder anyhow. The slight tendency towards evil does throw me off a bit though. I feel in general my views align closer to the bulk of societies view of "good".

Very cool quiz. My husband is going to love it. He is the Dork Master!

Testwise, I come up as heavily lawful good.

I'm thinking I'm not really that nice a person. I mean, I'd like to think that. But it just doesn't seem right.

I am pretty ocd about anything other than, say my personal and crafting spaces. And I'm a bit of a stickler for rules. (If 99 people gt away with somthing, I'll always be the 100th, so I follow everything to the letter...) So lawful suits.

I think I'm more likely to be lawful neutral. I try to do good things, and certainly tend to remain within the boundaries of the law, but I don't think I'm dreadfully altruistic and can have pretty evil thoughts. Or you know, I could be cynical and say that very few people really are altruistic (and Robin Hood probably kept a large cut of the proceeds), so the final results matter more.

How 'bout lawful cynial? I like that alignment!

I am chaotic-Neutral.

I totally agree with the results because it does surmise the way I feel.

In order to create and innovate we need to break the routine and breaking the routine is chaos which leads to invention and building up of new perspective. Chaos sheds light into the dark unexplored and previously untrodden lands of creativity. And through chaos comes order. I hate to be a mechanical person doing something what has been told. Learning begins when you question and the world would have not progressed if there weren't people who used their own mind.

Following what others say without using one's own judgement is the surest way of getting manipulated and I think we have all been bestowed upon with free will and intelligence to make decisions and take accountability of things concerned to our life. It is the prerogative of humans to err and it is highly unlikely that an institution be it government, schools, media, etc is perfect. You have to be conscientious and fight for your own rights.

As for the neutrality in being good or evil is concerned, I will surely be evil to evil if required. Sometimes in order to make someone understand you might have to use their own language. So I would be evil to the ones who deserve it.

I am always good to good and neutral people and I am forgiving too. If someone realises his mistakes and is willing to correct it, I would be the first to lend a helping hand. I love animals and don't like harming them for no reason. I believe in justice and will stand up for it. I know it's going to be tough but I think it's always worth it!

My character was always chaotic evil but usually because of all the jokes I played on my group members. They only let me DM once and said I put in too many odd side quests.

In real life I am lawful good because I feel that what goes around comes around and some day I will have to answer for what I have done. Not only that but it is hard to sit back and watch another human being suffer needlessly when so many have so much and all it takes is a simple smile to change someone's day.

Loved this show when it was on and the game when I played.
