I look at my options. 1. Can I back off, and find something else pleasurable to do, something that I know is not stressful? for example: cleaning around the house, working on a project, listening to music, go for a walk, meditate, practice my qigong, take a nap
2. If I cannot disengage from the stimulus, I sometimes focus on my breath and this helps me get back into my body and out the mind that is reacting to the stress.
