I know that I heard so many stories about Friday the 13th that it does make me pause for a moment or two, but sometimes it passes and I do not even realize it was Friday the 13th.
I do not think it is any more unlucky or lucky than any other day.
Your fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia. You are not the only one who fears the day. According to National Geographic, 17 to 21 million people are afflicted by paraskevidekatriaphobia.
If you believe the day has some kind of magical negative force you may be setting yourself up for bad things to happen that day. Superstitions become so ingrained in us sometimes that they become a part of our daily existence.
I don't really believe walking under a ladder is bad luck or having a black cat cross my path is bad, but just in case there is some remote chance that does mean something, there are times I avoid them. Everyone has their own beliefs and superstitions.

Every Friday the 13th, something always comes up that will make me happy. Simple stuff like getting a present, or having someone I badly like talk to me... I started to notice that I'm being lucky back then in high school.
I don't really believe that a person could be unlucky in a particular day. We can get bad news not just on Friday the 13th, but since people perceives that that day is unlucky, they'll blame the day of course.
No matter what the day is, what we just have to do is be optimistic on things. If something bad happens, then don't feel too affected by it or blame whatever you want to blame. It isn't because you're unlucky. Maybe things just fell short.

I figured that if I was going to have bad luck I was going to get it all over with at once.
Nothing bad ever happened but my best friend was always seriously upset and worried by my antics.

I know when I was in school I wasn't really able to think of the day before the weekend as unlucky in the least! I'd be more pursuaded to think of an unlucky Monday the 13th.
I tend to think of it as an easy hook to hang the bad stuff on. 'Well, it's the 13th.' On the plus side, you're telling yourself that it isn't your fault and that tomorrow will be better. But it strikes me as an artificial patterning. Sort of like if we've a really odd day at work I have a coworker who will blame the full moon.
But we've odd days at least every other day and really really strange people at least once a week, so I don't really think there's any real causality there. I think Friday the 13th works on the same principles.
But if it does get to you, as said, just remember it'll be over in 24 hours.

Oddly enough, June 24th is an awful day for me. Almost every year on June 24th someone in my family dies or is in a car accident. So I am less thrilled about June 24th than I am Friday the 13th which has less bad happenings than June 24th.

However...interestingly. There are self fulfilling prophesies...in the sense that 1) you might cause bad things to happen by being so careful because you are worried....and 2) it may not be that you are really having more issues that day than say some other days of the year that you might experience, but because you are aware that it is Friday the 13th, you are paying more attention to these little details and so they stand out more and worry you more.

How do you feel about Friday the 13th? (The day, not the movie)
I'm not a particularly superstitious person, but I've had some of the worst issues on Friday the 13th, to a point where I feel like I should stay home that day. How do you feel about the 13th?

While the day has superstitious backings, I treat it like any other day. Each day is for the most part what we make of it. Should a particular day go bad, well that's just how it goes. If you compare the number of "issues" I've had in a given year to the number of months with Friday falling on the 13th. There simply is no correlation.

When I was young I used to be very superstitious and I avoid going out especially travel on the 13th of the month if it falls on Friday. But as I have matured and grew in faith spiritually I am not worried about it anymore. I just pray that God will keep me safe always wherever I may be.

Friday the 13th are scary for others. Some people claim to have bad things happening to them on those days. But in the contrary, I FEEL lucky in those days. Most of the rational behind the stories of friday 13th are of a religious nature. Being a nonreligious person it doesn't register with me as a particular 'bad' day. I know when I was in school I wasn't really able to think of the day before the weekend as unlucky in the least! I'd be more pursuaded to think of an unlucky Monday the 13th.

I dont feel any differently about friday the 13th than I do about any other day. Nothing bad has ever happened to me on Friday the 13th - Actually most of the worst things in my life have happened on days that weren't even a Friday! Fridays are always welcome with me! :)

It has a history and by and by with the passing of time things become mythical too. But the more you know, the best you understand!

Some seem fine, some seem like a horror movie. Like my Friday 13th in October of 2006 my best friend was shot to death. But the year before that it seemed like a normal day. Oddly enough, June 24th is an awful day for me. Almost every year on June 24th someone in my family dies or is in a car accident. So I am less thrilled about June 24th than I am Friday the 13th which has less bad happenings than June 24th.

Yeah, see that's how Friday the 13th is for me. I can date it back at least 7 years either by coincidence or not, something bad has always happened on that day. I'm not afraid of black cats or anything (I have 2 solid black ones) but without fail every year something bad or even tragic happens. I'm not immune to bad things happening at other times of the year - if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all hahah...

Superstitions are products of what is called 'false cause'. It's connecting events as related that are not related at all (why we connect them is a different issue). Having bad things happen to a person has no connection with the particular day (the number on the calender given to this day of the week....products of our language and interests).
