If you are looking for red wines, I have two to recommend:
Casillero del Diablo- http://www.conchaytorousa.com/wines/diablo.html
I prefer the Carménère variety best.

My husband is quite fond of Penfold's Kanooga Hill.

Go for yellow tail. They always make good quality stuff, and they have a big variety.

This highly depends on where you are. In California, the Charles Shaw is very popular, but it's pretty easy to get tired of, too.

IMO the best wine under $10 is Robert Mondavi Private Selection Sauvignon Blanc. It's about $8. It's made with delicious citrus flavors from the west coast and a dabble of grapefruit. It goes quite well with spicy fish or shrimp (Thai style tilapia is a great compliment), and a wonderful alternative to the more expensive sauvignon blancs made in South America.
