"Beer Week" is actually held throughout the country and not just in one location or one specific time. The point of "beer week" is to support local microbrews... Cities like Philadelphia (http://www.phillybeerweek.org/ ) and San Francisco (http://www.sfbeerweek.org/ ) are the most well know for their celebrations but other organizations also are taking advantage of the idea on a more national level, such as the Brewers Associations - American Craft Beer Week (http://www.beertown.org/events/acbw/index.html )

Beer Week is held in "Philly," or Philadelphia and some other major cities throughout the US such as New York City, San Francisco, Syracuse etc. Beer week is this week in San Francisco February 6th to 15th.
SF BEER WEEK will be a ten-day celebration of that legacy, showcasing the Bay Area's brewing heritage with as many as 150 events. The week will be anchored by the Bistro Double IPA Festival, the Toronado Barleywine Festival and will end with a bang at the Celebrator's Best of the West Beer Fest. In between there will be beer dinners, cheese and beer pairing events, other gourmet food events savoring our world-class cuisine, meet the brewer evenings, homebrewing demonstrations, music, films, and even a museum exhibition exploring the history of Bay Area brewing, from Monterey to Sacramento and beyond.
Add to that a wealth of tourist destinations like Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Cable Cars and the Golden Gate Bridge, and there's never been a better time to visit San Francisco and the Bay Area.
More than 150 events are scheduled to take place between today and Feb. 15, including three festivals, beer dinners, other gourmet food events, home-brewing demonstrations, and a museum exhibition about the history of Bay Area brewing.

I wish Cleveland would jump on the bandwagon with this idea... The Great Lakes Brewing Company certainly has enough fans to pull this kind of thing off, and it would be easy to pull in ideas and marketing from the NYC and Syracuse locations nearby... I guess one can dream!
Yeah, you'd think Cleveland would be on top of this stuff. Cleveland has some better things though!
