Mead is good stuff. You can often find it at Renaissance Fairs, there are also a very limited number of stores that actually sell commercially available mead.
There are two in Wisconsin:
Avenue Wine and Liquor Inc.
4075 South Howell Avenue
Milwaukee, WI 53207
Outpost Natural Foods
100 E. Capitol Drive
Milwaukee, WI 53212
Micro-mead brewers, as you call them, are referred to as meaderies and usually also produce various wines; there are two in Wisconsin!:
White Winter Winery
68323 Lea St
Iron River, WI 54847
Spurgeon Vineyards and Winery
16008 Pine Tree Road
Highland, WI 53543
Happy meading! The Techno Viking approves :)

This website has great mead recipes, a forum, and resources for finding mead. I love mead. Who do you think would actually recommend Gallo for anything? I wouldn't drink their water.

Does anyone have a great Mead(e) recipe? Also, by any chance does anyone know a micro-mead maker in Wisconsin?
Years ago stumbled across a few bottles - best Mead I've ever had. Please don't suggest Gallo or other gut-rot....only really excellent Mead.
