I believe it does not have any merit. She was fired because she did not perform the duties of her title. The whole gay marriage issue is really a nonissue with regards to the reason she lost her crown.
If you want to talk about the gay marriage issue, I would like to point out that 600 years ago, everyone thought the world was flat. 300 years ago, everyone thought slavery was okay. 75 years ago, African-Americans were still being made to use separate facilities so white man didn't get black man germs (I suppose that was the reasoning). As we evolve and become better and better human beings, imagine what we will know 30 years, 60 years, 200 years from now? Could it be that we will learn that homosexuals are human beings and deserve the same rights and privileges as everyone else? I would bet the farm on that! So, to those who still feel gay marriage is an atrocity, I must point out that we as humans are constantly evolving.
If they had asked Ms. Prejean what her stance on racism was, she would have probably said it's an atrocity. However, if the pageant had taken place 200 years ago, what do you think her answer would have been? We can only wonder, but I'm betting her answer probably would have included the N-word.
The moral of the story is that we are all God's children and, yes, he loves every single one of us regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, or whatever bad habits we might have because we are his children. To feel any other way, in my opinion, is an atrocity to God's very existence.

But weeks after, Carrie seemed to neglect her responsibilities for the pageant. Instead her proving that she deserves the crown, it's like she rebelled against everyone on the pageant.
I hope she didn't act childish like Perez. Oh well, everything's said and done. And oh, on your question, if she have any merit or this is just a publicity stunt? I believe on the latter.

Does the Carrie Prejean Lawsuit have any merit?
Former Miss California Carrie Prejean filed a lawsuit against pageant officials and Shanna Moakler, among others, claiming she was fired for her religious beliefs, specifically on gay marriage.
Pageant officials claim she missed scheduled events required in her contract and was fired for breach of contract.
Does she have a leg to stand on with this suit or is it just a ploy for attention and fame?

I used to like her after the pageant because she said exactly what's on her mind. I hated Perez Hilton then for acting so childish. That's her opinion and we must respect that. But weeks after, Carrie seemed to neglect her responsibilities for the pageant. Instead her proving that she deserves the crown, it's like she rebelled against everyone on the pageant.

The answer is NO; she does not have a case. Carrie was not fired because of her religion but her answer was discriminatory and prejudicial to others. According to Fox News (2009), Perez Hilton was a judge who gave the score that affected the outcome. Hilton reserved the right to score Carrie Jean based on his merits as a judge at that time. The state of California has an anti-discrimination statute and this was not it. Carries comments were discriminatory and she also did not fulfill duties required of her even if there was bias. Carrie Jean simply did not complete the job. Carrie Jean could not fulfill the duties of being Ms California if she could not be unbiased and accepting of the people who are diverse in their own right based on gender, sexuality and religion. Carrie Jean does not have to agree with principles but as a representative she has to be tolerant and respectful. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517362,00.html
